SPLAT protects your mail server from dangerous and annoying content such as SPAM, viruses, trojan horses, malware, spyware, phishing and many other dangers delivered through e-mail which can create lag or damage to your system.
The SPLAT server scans incoming e-mail messages looking for SPAM or viruses. This scanning is completely automatic; - private e-mail messages are not read or reviewed by humans. Messages which are flagged by the system as possibly containing either SPAM or viruses are stored safely in quarantine - a holding area on a server, instead of being delivered to your mailbox where they might cause trouble.
